It’s a Boy!
So, we confirmed we are having a boy today. He is growing well on target for Nov 23rd delivery date.
So, I send out a text message to many folks asking for their predictions before we go in to the ultrasound. Most come back with a girl. Hell, I thought it was gonna be a girl. But one of these days I will learn to listen to my wife. She said it was a boy, and now, we are having a boy, not an it.
We immediately went and picked out the colors for the room. We modeled it after the May cover of Living Magazine. Off to Home Depot. Damn their color picker is fun to play with, and surprisingly good on the blue. The orange, not so much, but that’s ok, we’ll just come back later for that. We haven’t decided exactly how we want to use the accent color yet. We found a washable flat from Behr. Score!
We went and registered at Babys R Us and Target. That was fun. I didn’t think I would enjoy kid stuff as much as I enjoyed checking out the wedding registry stuff, but I was able to geek out, so I dug it. There was a very helpful associate at Babys R Us that helped us talk about differences in strollers, play pens, high chairs, etc.
And to cap the day off, I finally felt the baby kick for the first time. Amazing. I’ll admit, I teared up. We are having a Cravey boy, a name carrier, a progeny of good stock and lineage. I hope I don’t break him.
